Title: having problem config. x-arcade dual joystick to work with mame...

I just bought the x-arcade dual stick, booted up the x-arcade test and all the buttons works fine!
But when in Mame, the left joystick doesn't work, and everything else works fine.

I read the manual, it told me to make sure the "number lock" is "on", but my number lock is on and the left joystick still does NOT work.
And outside of mame, the joystick functions fine with "number lock on"

Is there a config. in mame to do this?  is it my mame or the computer that gives me this problem??

I'm using mame32 .117b

Do you have the USB or PS/2 option?

I had the very same problem with the PS/2 connector and had to get a replacement.

Be careful also not to wiggle the cable that attaches to the control panel. 

The board socket is not the strongest

I tried both USB and PS/2

They gave me the same problem....

any more suggestions?

I sometimes run into the same problem - I'm not sure what I do to make it work again (!) ... Try reloading the config (press the back button twice ... light turns off and then comes back . .. then plug it again and reboot computer)

found the problem after hours and hours of searching.

turns out it's a bug in mame32 117

downloaded mame32 116, works fine now
