I've bought a input switch for my cab but need a little advice regarding wiring it up to my Power Supply.
This switch is quite strange as it requires fuses on the both the live and Neutral inputs, is this normal?
The front of the switch has a input for a PC / Kettle lead, its then fused between the input and the switch on both neutral and Live inputs.
What I plan to do is this...(see diagram)
run two small wires from the mains/fused side to one side of the switch then from the other side of the switch run the wires to the power supply via another kettle lead.
So Basically its one mains lead (PC/Kettle) into the switch then into another Kettle lead that will connect to a PC power supply.
This PC power supply is the type with both a input and output connection so I can run the monitor straight from this supply to.
Is this all ok, do I have sufficient fusing at the switch for both PC power supply and monitor?

Here is a tread on a similar module. AC input/Fuses/Switch I cannot answer the question about having sufficient fusing as I do not know what fusing you have or the load that your cab provides. Wiring looks like it is OK. Make sure to solder the connections and use heat shrink to protect the bare contacts.

Thx Boba, I picked up a selection of fuses now I need to determine what the correct size fuse should be.
Basically the wires will be coming from the entry point into a 450W PC power supply, the power supply will also power the monitor as its a in/out type power supply along with a multi jamma board and two 80mm Fans.
Any idea how I determine the total load? I did all this when I was at school V=I x R etc..., sadly that was many years ago :P

If the PC power supply was 100% efficient, 4 1/2 Amps would cover it's needs, assuming 110V input. In the real world more is needed. The power supply and monitor don't have labeling on input power requirements? If in doubt, I'd go with a larger fuse. The devices connected through the switch should have their own fuses inside, so baring a malfunction in the switch or your wiring, the fuse in the switch is redundent.

That module would have been designed for something that required 2 fuses.
You wiring is spot on.
I would go from the module to a power strip/multi plug and run your outputs to monitor, PSU, transformer etc from there.
Make sense?
