I have been configuring Mala for the past few weeks and have found a repeatable problem that has been haunting me.
Been noticing on both my PC and my cab, that if I press any keys not allocated in the config, that the front end stops recognizing input ... except a right mouse click for the options screen.
Example - moving up and down, left right, player 1 ect.. work great. If I press any other buttons, I have to exit mala and restart it to get inputs back.
Is there a way to bypass this or lock out input on the frontend from other key presses?
P.S. Noticed a new work in progress version today.. but did'nt see a beta version posted.
Thanks,
Bloodwyn

What keys can you press to cause this? Are these keys that bring up the task bar or the desktop? I suspect it has something to do with this bug I posted about here:

I am hoping Swindus will address this soon.

For me, as long as the joystick or buttons are assigned in Mala, I don't have any frontend lockup.. but I really only have a few buttons assigned.
Here is a picture.
The controls circled in red are the ones that are not assigned and will freeze the front end from input.

I have seen this recently when pressing the ENTER key while a MALA gamelist is displayed. I am testing MALA on my home PC (not my arcade cabinet) at the moment and when I want to select a game, I press the ENTER key (by mistake) since I do not have ENTER mapped.
Anyway, it seems MALA loses focus, however the right mouse click still works so I can get control back.

Don't know what happened in the RC9 beta. But this is fixed in the coming RC10.
