Title: Best "Off the Shelf" Pac-Man spray or model paint color match?
Post by: PacManess on August 03, 2007, 01:27:37 pm
Hello,

I'm currently working on converting a stick to play nothing but Xbox360 Live 4-way arcade games. I want to paint the outside of the stick yellow in honor of my favorite little arcade fellow. The surface I'll be painting is plastic.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good spray paint or model type paint (the base of the stick isn't THAT big) that can be used to approximate the color of the Pac? It doesn't have to be exact really (not for this project)...just something I can hit up Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby etc... and purchase.

Thanks for any input!

It took me 30 seconds of looking at that trying to figure out what a "pac man spray" is before I got that.

I'd say just get a bright, deep yellow enamel spray paint and you're good.

I saw a nice Krylon brand at Meijer (a local supermarket/Wal-Mart type store) this morning...may go with that. I need to find a nice way to apply some black lettering (small but important) to label four buttons after I paint. I was thinking of those "rub off" sheets...but I'll have to do some checking around.

May I say, if this works, I will have the greatest XBox 360 retro stick ever! Okay, likely one of the only ones (kids and their new fangled 8 way sticks :) ).
