Title: laying cabinet down for pickup
Post by: mrserv0n on August 02, 2007, 06:21:53 pm
Is it ok to lay a cabinet down monitor facing up while transporting it or does it need to stay upright?

Should be fine on its back.  That's how I transported mine.

Make sure that the monitor is bolted down, and that everything inside not bolted down is removed.

And then do it again.  There's nothing worse when moving a game than hearing the CRT smash because something heavy flew into it.

Indeed, mine was in the back of a van, but we had no problem with it.  If you put an old sheet under it you can slide it out, and it will come out vertically, similar to what the Egyptians did for their obelisks.

Yea it fine just like everyone else said.  One thing I did though was put some plywood I had laying around and bungie cording it over the screen area because of rock and stuff.
