Has anyone watched Code Monkeys on G4 yet? A coworker was telling me about it yesterday while discussing vintage arcade games. Apparently, it is an animation done entirely in 4-bit graphics. Sounds to me like it is about as crude as South part but includes tons of references to old arcade games.
It is on at 9pm tonight on G4. I will be checking it out.

I made it through a little more than half an episode. It's as crude as South Park, without any of the wit. Unfortunately, It seems to be of a similar quality to everything else I have seen G4 produce, which is low.
The animation concept is about the only thing I found redeeming about it. I would not hesitate to inflict pain unto the writers though. Your mileage may vary.

I watched 3-4 episodes while I was in bed sick last week. I agree with the South Park comparison, right down to the "warning label" when the show starts. It is definitely a South Park imitation but with weaker characters and much weaker writing.
I do like the show but it definitely needs to improve. I don't think it's actually 4 or 8 bit graphics, it's just made to look that way.

It's definitely 2-bit writing.

Not funny... G4 will probably re-replace it with reruns of Cops.

Oh it has humor, it just has real subtle humor going on while the main dialog (which is pretty weak) is going on. I enjoy it... not a must-see, but when nothing else is on it's ok.
Something of note is that all the characters are based on super dodge ball sprites. (With maybe a bit of double dragon too.) One of the things I really enjoy is when they get in fights and all that default dodge ball animation shines. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this show, but my expectations were really low, so that's not necessarily saying much. I figured it would be absolutely terrible since it's on G4, but I find the animation to be enjoyable, and some of the background jokes to be pretty funny.
