Title: What's the current "hot" Front end?
Post by: electricd on July 31, 2007, 12:05:19 pm
Hello,

I am setting up an old Mame machine that I have had out of service for some time now.  I have always used MameWah, but am wondering if anything has come out since that "everyone" is using these days?  2 years ago when I first set this machine up, MameWah was the going FE, is it still?  Any suggestions?

I beleive the following are under development:

AtomicFE  (http://www.Atomicfe.com)

GameEX (http://www.tomspeirs.com/gameex)

Mala ( http://mala.arcadezentrum.com/)

I use MALA since it is real easy to set up and has some features which I required.  I use to use Mamewah but got tired of updating INI file manually.  It turned out to be way too much work for me.

I use mala just so I can put to use GameCreatures kick butt skins. Whatever happened to him anyway?

I concur. With a front end like that who needs anything else?

I am in the same boat. I am getting my old hard drive up and running again and finially get everything going again.

MALA is looking verynice so far. I want something where I can customize the lists and easilly switch between emulators.

The plugin options look nice. Too bad I friend my LCD panel. And now that I see there is a Mamewah to MALA converter for screens... Not too shabby.

Props to whoever created this!
