I was in Mexico yesterday and when I was passing by a mini mart, I saw a bunch of kids gathered around two arcade machines. I went to check it out and on one arcade, one kid was playing a 3D racing game. At least that's what I thought at first. He crashed his car in-game which stopped the car then the character came out of the car. That's when I realized it was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas he was playing on a stand up arcade machine. He was using the joystick to move the character around. And the buttons on the arcade where setup in the six button street fighter layout with two players. He was using the second player joystick though to move around.
There was a timer on the bottom right of the screen. I'm guessing you play by time. More quarters means more play time. There where some other numbers on the bottom left of the screen but not sure what those where for.
I didn't stay long but now I'm wondering how they did that and if it was the PC version of the game or console game like X-box or PS2. It was running on a pretty high resolution so I'm thinking it was the Pc version. Anyone know about this?

I've seen both xbox and ps2 to Jamma kits before, that allow a console to run in "Time Mode". Most likely what it was. (not sure about the monitor though).
