I want to do a custom CPO for a Williams cabinet.
I'm just wondering if anyone has used a CPO that they've got printed at Kinko's or somewhere similar. If so what did you do to make it durable, other than covering it with plexi which I'm trying to not do.

If you want to avoid using plexi, I would highly recommend getting your cpo done by mamemarquees.com.

Yeah I should just go with them. I have a Kinko's connection so I was just entertaining the idea. My gut feeling is that it will not be good enough no matter what I do to a kinko's copy.

I got my temp one printed at Kinkos for $14 if you have a hook up and can get it done on the cheap cheap, get one printed out and see how ya like it, if you hate it or it doesnt stand up to wear, you'll only be out a few bucks, then you already have artwork that you know is the right size ready for scott

I used kinkos for my plexi covered CPO's. Since using Mamemarquee's polycarbonite - I won't go back to kinkos. But, if you are going to use plexi, I don't have a problem with kinkos. I wouldn't use a home bubblejet though - I never could get that ink to dry fully.
All of this artwork was done at Kinkos:

The marquee is backlit vinyl - which is pretty nice. The rest is just high gloss color print. They charge around $15 a sq ft and take about as long as Mamemarquee to send it to you.

My CPO and marquee (both temp till I finalize design for scott) was $28 total and was ready in about 2 hours

got mine done at kinkos. I also had them laminate it. It is quite durable, but for the cost (if you were paying full retail) you'd be better off at mamemarquees. Since you say you've got a hookup, I'd go that route. Oh, how I long for my lost kinkos hookup.

It takes about 2-3 days for kinkos to print and it takes mamemarquees about 2-3 days to ship it to me. So, to me that near the same. Without knowing the size of your CPO/marquee - it's hard to tell anything.

CPO was umm 24" x 10.5" and marquee was 24" x 8.5" high gloss paper not laminated or anything, and the kinkos I go to is basically the print shop for Univeristy of Delaware students, since school isnt in session, its completely dead in there, hence the speed

I was looking into using Kinko's as well. My CP comes in at 15"x37" which would force me too the 23x49" option on Scott's Mamemarquees. I've heard nothing but excellent things but i just can't see spending $70+ for printing this.
Using plexi aint that big of a deal really for me, i'd prefer not to however.
Anyone really recommend agaisnt it?

I've used both...
I would spend the money on Scott and skip the plexi. Whats your cost going to be from Kinkos + plexi? My guess is they aren't that far apart.

we don't have a kinko's here, but i just had a marquee printed at Staples, on glossy paper. it looks pretty good, although if it were a cpo, it would definately need to be covered with plexi. I dont reccomend going this route for marquees, since it looks very washed out with backlight, but with the light off it looks really good and would probably work very well for a cpo. best part was it was less than $5 to get printed (8.5" x 23") i dont know about Kinkos, but here at Staples, they can only print up to 24" wide in color, and 36" in black/white.
i dont know how big your panel is, mine is 12" x 30". i picked up a piece of plexi at Home Depot for like $9
you could probably save some money by going that route, but if you dont want plexi, i wouldnt reccomend the kinkos option.
