Title: Cabinet Identification
Post by: Jack Burton on July 24, 2007, 01:57:18 am
I'm thinking of buying this cabinet for converting into a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.  It's a three hour drive from me and I would like to know the dimensions before I make the trip.

Could anybody identify the orignal game that was in this cabinet or anything about its height or give opinions about candidacy for conversion?  Looks like it should be pretty easy.

Oh, and I would be running the game via a hacked xbox, so no need for power supplies or anything.

Generic Bally Sente "SAC-1" cab.

The flyer with cabinet info is HERE. (http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=3058)

Height-72"
Width-25"
Depth-34-7/8"

Converting it shouldn't be that hard. Like the many Dynamo cabinets this was made to be a generic cabinet that could easily be converted between games. Being that the width is 25", the control panel is probably 23-1/2". Not the widest CP around, but hardly impossible (my Neo-Geo dedicated only has a 23-3/4" panel).

color me impressed!

you should be fine with a 23" panel since the sides are open, if it was like my Pengo cab its a lil tight on 2 player games, especially Super SF2 and MKII :)

Thanks a lot guys.

I've decided I'm going to get it and put a good sized presentation monitor and ps1 controller pcbs, that way I can connect both computer and consoles.
