Title: PS3 owners explain this one please?
Post by: RTSDaddy2 on July 20, 2007, 05:34:01 pm
Ok gang, I've waited long as I can....

Everyone talks about what a marvel the PS3 is graphically compared to the Wii, and truthfully, I can't dispute it....I've seen the PS3 at it's best.  But why then did they take what I would say is a step back with the graphics for this Ninja Gaiden Sigma game?  I wouldn't say it's exactly a next gen with all this power the PS3 has under the hood...not when I can't see the difference between it and the graphics on LOZ: TP.   Any thoughts?

Also, has anybody bought Sigma? What is your take on it from a graphics perspective?  I know commercials often don't do these games justice, and that's solely what I'm basing this post on.  Your thoughts please (btw, Sigma actually made me think I MIGHT want a PS3 someday, just to show there's no hard feelings intended :))

Hi, I have the demo for sigma....and I agree:  Commercials do not do it justice...the graphics are nice.....but you really need a HDTV to appreciate it.  I've downloaded a bunch of videos off this year's E3.....you can get them off the playstation store....and some of the games coming are gorgeous.  Although a few Sony insiders recently stated that the PS3 is only using 30-40 percent of it's power at present.  Developers are still learning the hardware.  This has been discussed before, look at the games that came out the first year for the PS2, and look at the games now....night and day.  Give it some time.  It will come into it's own.

could also be a long game with alot of goodies and if to much size is used on graphics mainly then the game would need to be shorter or have more then 1 disk just a thought though  :dunno.

Definitely not that.  We're talking about BluRay.  That's 50 GB on a single disk, which is more than what five dual-sided DVDs can store.  Storage is definitely not the problem.

Might it have something to do with the fact that it's an upgraded version of a game from 2004?
