Title: Keywiz Error
Post by: brock.sampson on July 17, 2007, 11:03:13 pm
When the pc in my cabinet boots up the keywiz tries to update but an error pops up on the screen.  This is they syntax of the  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Keywiz registry entry:

C:\Program Files\KeyWiz Uploader\KeyWiz_Uploader2.exe /P A /A /L /S

Even when I paste that into the run line I get the same error.  Also attached is a screenshot of the error I get.  After the error if I reopen uploader it will upload the correct set no problems.  I'm trying to streamline the boot process to go straight to mamewah and this is tripping me up.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

This seems to be an issue with the stealth option, but for unknown reasons it's only shown itself on a couple of systems.  Could be video card / driver related.

Try turning off the stealth option and see what happens.  In the meantime, I''ll look into what the cause might be.

What video card and how many displays are in use on that system?

I'll try with the stealth option off tonight.  I have a Saphhire Radeon 9600 Pro http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102410 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102410).  I'm using DVI to component dongle to a 27"tv, I also have an lcd screen off of the vga connection.

Just tried with stealth mode turned off and still got the same error.  Anything else I should try?

It might be related to the dual monitor setup. I'm puzzled as to why it wouldn't work with stealth mode disabled, seeing as that seems to be the primary difference between the manual and automatic methods.

Probably best to take this to email and then report back if we can figure out what's different and causing the issue on your system.

Randy helped me get this figured out.  The problem was I am an idiot and I was launching the keywiz uploader when the keywiz uploader quit.

The moral of this story is rtfm.  Thanks for your help Randy.
