I have a GeForce 7950 GT video card in my computer. I have my computer all set up and ready to put into my cabinet. However, I need a monitor/tv. I hear that a tv is best for mame, and certain video cards are required to allow the video to be displayed on the televison. Will the (GeForce 7950 GT ) work?
Looking to use a 27" for my mame project. What tv has the best picture for this type of set up? Which video card is needed if mine is not what i want?
thanks guys/gals..

I guess what I am trying to say is:
Is the S-Video coming out of my card all that I need? I hear component is better for mame projects.
and, do I need a seperate card besides mine to display on the tv? I read about peoples "VGA graphics cards" and wonder if I have the right thing.

A card with S-video out would be all you need (most people seem to prefer ATI cards for TV out though). A card that supports component output would be slightly better (search for "ATI DVI component adapter" for more information), but your TV has to have component inputs of course. Having done both, I can tell you that an arcade monitor is the ideal display device for MAME, but it is more expensive than a TV. If you have a TV lying around, I'd personally just use that. But if you are thinking about spending a few hundred on a new TV, I would seriously consider a multisync arcade monitor like Betson or Billabs.

I will b emulating Mame, nes, snes, n64, gen, gen master syst, neo-geo, sega cd, daphne, and artari games. Would an arcade monitor be better in that type of set up?
