Title: Spinner help needed

I have mouse 1 in my main mame .ini file and the spinner works fine in cameltry, pole position etc so no problem there. When I play arkanoid I can move the paddle with joystick and trackball but the spinner does nothing?
I have gone in to the in game setttings for Arkanoid and the control is set to mouse 1 X which I assume is correct because it'e the same in Cameltry. When I try setting the control by turning the spinner I get nothing.
Any ideas?
