I recently got an original Arkanoid spinner off ebay. I'm wonder what the best type of lube would be to use on it? I'm thinking about using silicon, as I'm guessing anything oil based will probably do some damage to the plastic gears(?) Any suggestions on what lube I should use would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I recently did something similar. You could use white lithium grease. I didn't have any, so I used some petroleum jelly. Shouldn't break down.

Thanks, I completely forgot about white lithium grease. I'll give that a try. Hopefully it'll cut down on the vibrations when I spin it, but I get the feeling something might be slightly bent and need to be replaced. Oh well that's the fun of all this right?
Edit:
white lithium grease is where it's at. Spinner is super smooth now, no grinding or nasty vibrations. Encoder wheel looks a little bent but that's a whole other problem to deal with.

IIRC, the manual recommends white lithium grease. Good call! :D

I know you fixed it already but for other that dont have any of the white lithium hair clipper oil works also and works good on alot of things lol.

One thing I'll say about white lithium grease, make sure you use it where you don't mind making a mess. It doesn't really come out of the can in a consistent way (at least not until you use it a while...) So don't use it on your kitchen table (unless it's the one you solder on and never use for eating...)
