Title: Must have GameCube/Wii games?
Post by: ahofle on July 11, 2007, 07:06:39 pm
I see that there is a sticky for must own PS1/DC games.  Just wondering if there is any similar resource around for other consoles (GC/Wii in this case)?  I just recently picked up a Wii and so far the additional games I've bought for it were only mediocre.  I really wish console game companies released free demo versions of their games like PC games usually do.

Yeah, any of the Zelda games are good. Both the Metroid Prime's are good. Tales of Symphonia, Eternal Darkness, RE4.....all good.

I second the Eternal Darkness and Ikaruga choices...those 2 games are pretty much the reason my Cube is still hooked up :D

How is Ikaruga different from the DC/Naomi version?

eternal darkness or mario sunshine?  I've only played a few games on the GC, including Res. Evil 4 and Super Smash Bros., but so far Eternal Darkness is easily my favorite.

Nyeh, I got Eternal Darkness but it's too scary sounding to play when the kids are around.  My GC is in the living room with the 5.1 setup.

i really didnt like Eternal Darkness at all, its a resident evil clone with some interesting scare tactics in it.

Basically, you go crazy as you see weird things, which make weird things happen in the game... but nothing really 'jump-out-at-you' scary, more things that would be scary in real life and dont really do anything in the game...

I got pretty tired of the four or five baddies you fight, and i thought the graphics were sub par compared to Resident Evil or Alone in the Dark: TNN

Some of the puzzles are really neat and challenging if i remember, maybe thats what people liked, I hated the story though... Just one mans opinion, always try a game for yourself (obviously)  :P

It may sound good, but dont even LOOK at Star Fox Adventures... seriously  :o

Def Jam Vendetta

Nothing, it's basically the same.

To add to the list, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil Remake, Mario Golf, Super Smash Brothers Melee and a few of the 007 games were decent.

I recommend Super Monkey Ball 2 for the GC.  Highly entertaining and fun for the whole family, as they say.
