Title: Batch converting .png to .pcx graphics files
Post by: mpm32 on April 23, 2003, 12:35:07 pm
Anyone know how I can batch convert .png graphics files to .pcx graphics files?   I need to convert all of my snap images.   Don't ask.  :)

I looked for a freeware utility but I didn't have any luck.  I can do them one by one but, who wants to do that.

Thanks to howard's answer to another post today, I found irfanview.

I'm sorry, I have to ask, because quite frankly, pcx is the worst possible image format you could ever choose.  It's low color, high detail loss, and isn't supported by a lot of things anymore.

I am using Party on as my frontend.  I mainly run 80's games and I wanted a frontend that looked simple and basic.  I could only get the screen shots to show up as .pcx.  I think that Party on was written a while ago.  I know .pcx is not really supported anymore but it works for my needs and the infanview image viewer you pointed to worked well for batch converting all of the png shots to pcx.  I still have the png snaps for future use.
