Title: Monitor color issue
Post by: Hawk Daddy on July 07, 2007, 05:35:56 pm
I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the monitor because it happens with two boards.  So I have a killer instinct cab with a golden tee 99 board in it. And at first the monitor worked fine now the colors are off purple is like a yellow, and none of the colors are correct, could this be  because it is in a building and it gets hot in there?

its possible the degauss is not functioning or a colour drive transistor is shot,i don't believe heat is a problem

Have you moved the cab, or even just rotated it at all? My Donkey Kong had some pink issues until I changed it from facing east to facing south and that cleaned it up.

if its a degauss isssue then moving a magnet around the screen would help to see if the colours return,if thats the case then you would need to replace the ptc component
if it makes no difference or makes it worse then you need to look towards the drive transistors
to be honest a pic of the problem would help a hell of a lot more
