HI, Ive just recently joined <Obviously..doh!> and thought It would be polite to introduce myself. My name is Chad and I'm from Sydney , Australia. But please don't hold that against me ..lol.. I'm 35 and Ive enjoyed playing arcade games most of my life. I can still remember playing Space Invaders , Galaga and Moon Patrol in my younger years.
I discovered MAME a few years ago and I have been playing a few games on it <Demo's..Cough Cough> with a lowly Keyboard and just recently acquired my first Cabinet which is in dire need of service and repair which I thought would be great to "MAME".
Ive been reading anything I can get my hands on for the last Six Months while waiting to get the funds together to purchase anything I might need. (including the posts on here and buying the Project Arcade book). Ive found that the members here are very knowledgeable , experienced and helpfull to Newbies so I thought Id better join as I know Ill need some help to piece this together somewhere down the track. I'll try my best not to be to irritating with any questions that I have, and try to research it before asking.
Well , rambled on far enough , hope someone reads this and sends a Hello my way , I'm looking forward to seeing my "Arcade Adventure" through. Thanks.
Chad. :)

He doesn't have to be a newbie. I'll spot him a couple thousand posts. Us Chads have to stick together.

Hidy Ho Chad and welcome to the forums. I'll be glad to help you out with any questions that I can answer. My area of knowledge tends towards interface cards and other controls. There are others that have more expertise in front ends and integrating the interface cards into the front end. And there are those who know more about restorations.
Just remember two things here. 1. Post Plenty of Pics of your projects. :pics 2. Be careful what you say to or around Saint, it may show up as your custom title. ;)

HAHA... Yes we do . :laugh2:
Funny when I was growing up Chad was very Uncommon , but recently I seem to find more people called " Chad ".
I just wanted to thank again everyone for the warm welcome and hopefully by the weekend Ill post some pics of the Cab I picked up - hopefully someone might be interested..lol.. As any suggestions and future help is very much appreciated so thanks for the offers of help guys.
Also , nice to see some fellow " Aussies " on here too. I dont know anyone from here , so its nice to make new "Net" Friends. I'm glad being Australian is not held against us.. haha.. I knew it wouldn't , you guys seem really nice , but then again we all have the same type of interests so we all must be nice people.. :D
(Is this statement going to draw a hot debate / criticism..lol) >:D

G'day Chad. I'm a mame brother from Canberra.
I'm always in the middle of one cabinet-related project or another, so come and say hello if you are in town. ;D
