Title: Alternate T-molding source
Post by: SavannahLion on July 06, 2007, 12:14:23 am
I ordered some samples from T-Molding.com and it fits nicely. The thing is, the molding doesn't quite look right.

The T-molding on a Hang-On cab seems to be very flat. The T-molding.com style has a distinct convex curve. In retrospect, I should've ordered the white Nintendo style molding to see if that is a stylistic match. Oh well.

yeah, I know I'm probably not going to care once I replace all of the T-Molding. But to me, it's like putting white walls on a 2007 Tacoma. Looks kind of out of place, even if no one else notices. Of course... I did order a sample of the black/chrome/black to see how that looks (the barbs are too thick requiring me to route a larger routing... bleh).

T-mold.com seems to have a bad rep. So are there any other sources people have tried for our arcade cab needs?

Damn it. I need to go get my ruler and measure the old T-molding again. I think T-mold.com (http://www.t-mold.com/product/SB-9.htm) might've had the size and style I needed.  :banghead:

It looks like Outwater Plastics (http://www.outwater.com/) might be a good source. They have what looks like a flatish T-molding in the size I need.

Has anyone ever ordered from Outwater? It seems they sell in bulk? :(

We order various parts from Outwater at work, both of the companies I work for order from them repeatedly so they must be reliable, otherwise we would find a different vendor.
