Up to 16 boards may be used per system.

Up to 16 different boards in any valid combination or up to 16 of the same boards?

These will be ideal for portable personal control panels (PPCP)  All you would need is a short USB cable (6") connecting this to a USB hub.  Include a thumb drive on the hub with a simple front end to control the LEDs, MAME and a few roms.  Just make sure that you don't overload the power consumption with the LEDs or get a wall wart to supply the 5v needed.

You may have a total of 16 LED-Wiz / LED-Wiz+GP boards on a system.  To maintain compatibility with existing software, both models use the same device numbers.  So if you already have LED-Wiz devices 1 and 2 on your system, then you'd want to order the the LED-Wiz+GP board as device 3.  If you don't already have an LED-Wiz board on your system, start at device 1 and work your way upward.

You're killing me man.  I just ordered the rotary gpwiz yesterday, thinking my old gpwiz would replace the gamepad hack in my headless mp3box.   Now this beautiful thing comes along.  it would be perfect for the mp3box, which doesnt need more than about 12 buttons. I could have a led for the shuffle and repeat modes, and maybe a cool volume meter around the knob.

I don't really want to be a pain in the butt penguin,  but is there linux software in the works?  I assume the gpwiz part will work fine but the led part would need a small program right?   could i possibly program it on a windows box and then hook it up to the linux box once it is programmed?

great job,  and thanks.

I don't think its been announced anywhere, but I'll mention here that I'm in the process of working on a Linux library/app that'll drive an LED-Wiz.

I'm unfortunately a bit behind due to some "real life" interruptions, but have things started and have my Fedora box talking to an LED-Wiz.  Doesn't do anything yet, but they're talking to each other.  Things should start to pick up speed in about two weeks as I get some work out the door and have more dedicated time to sit down and finish coding.

bleargh it sounds like i'm gonna owe you a case of beer sooner or later.

My mp3box is functional enough now and i cant afford the LED-Wiz+GP™ anytime this month.  maybe if i can find a way to hook up a coin door to the Wii, i can get enough quarters from the kids to get the led-wiz by the time your software is ready.

thanks and good luck!

Sounds good to me.

As things get closer to completion and we've got something suitable for public consumption, I'm sure that RandyT will make an announcement.  Keep your eyes peeled.  ;D

Just a quick note to let those who might be interested know that the LED-Wiz+GP™ Is now available (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=306) to order and will ship immediately.

And while I'm at it, a quick heads up about a product that was recently added, but was never formally announced.  Our new Pushbutton Diffuser Discs (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=300) are specially designed to drastically reduce or eliminate light "blow through" on the standard translucent pushbuttons.  They are not white plastic, rather true diffusers which will better maintain the look of the button in both the lit and unlit states.
