Title: Dedicated Sega Outrun 19" Monitor Woes
Post by: testicle187 on July 04, 2007, 01:32:34 am
The monitor on my Outrun works for a while but i blurry.  Then after about 15 minutes it starts to sharpen up a bit.  Then a few minutes later a popping noise starts coming from around the neckboard and the screen rolls vertically and bounces with the pops.  Eventually it starts popping fast and the screen is rolling almost non-stop so I unplug it.  Any clue what could cause this?

Old caps would explain the blurriness that sharpens (they warm up) but I'm not 100% on the snapping noise.  One of the neckboard pins not making good contact with the neck, maybe.  As it heats up causes things to expand, pins no longer make contact.  Maybe.

Turn the game on and the lights off.  Then wait and see if you see some sparks in the back when you hear the 'pop' sound.
