Title: Just about had it with Beston Baltimore
Post by: iamnaeth on July 02, 2007, 04:28:41 pm
This is sort of a rant and sort of a request for information.  I just got off the phone with Betson Balitmore and apparently no one in the entire company there has access to the dimensions of the 27" Multisync monitor.  I've tried to track down this information for 2 weeks and after dealing with abrassive person after abrassive person, I have half a mind to call the president of their branch or company.  Additionaly, I have no problems that the monitor I order has been back ordered for the last 3 weeks but now it's gotten to the point where it is delaying my design.  So, would anyone with a 27" Betson Multisync monitor please be kind enough to share with me the dimensions of your monitor?  I just want to know if you were going to put the monitor in a box, with the front flush to a side, what is the smallest box you could fit it in?  I can move on with my cabinet construction after I know that information.  I've looked at their website and it lists the width as 235".  While I realize this is probably 23.5" it makes me question the accuracy of their measurements.  Thanks, and sorry for the rant.

Check this thread:

> I have this monitor, and just measured it for you.
> The screen itself is 23.5 or so.
> However, you are right, when you measure at the mounting brackets, it runs exactly 24.5 inches.
>(ie, each mounting bracket extends out about 1/2 an inch)

And:
> I just measured mine...it's just a shade under 24.5" wide (24 7/16" to be exact).

Yes, I've seen that thread.  Unfortunately, it doesn't give the height or depth.  I need to know how tall and deep to make my side pieces.

I won't be able to give you the depth measurement, I am not in a position to measure that.

The height is 18.5 for the actual screen + 2.5 inches for the upper bracket + 2.5 for the lower bracket.
So you should figure about 23 inches for the total height.

Have you tried to contact Betson's headquarters in New Jersey?

Scottk, thanks for the response, that information will definitely be useful!

Ken, if I'm not able to get any information or a useful sales associate tomorrow in Baltimore, I fully intend on contacting their headquarters.

Or maybe you could try a different sales office.   :dunno  I received excellent service from Betson Midwest.  Not sure if they know that info, though...
