Title: Getter Mouse slot machine help??
Post by: MPTech on July 01, 2007, 03:57:31 am
This isn't arcade (I do have one and this site's been a tremedous help) but I was given a Getter Mouse Slot Machine today, to go in my Game Room.  I was told it used to work and still works sometimes.  There was no manual and everything is in Japanese (or something I cannot read), but from what I could gather when I googled it, these are machines from the Ginza strip or Cruise ships.  It is a little different than the Vegas machines I've played.

The problems I'm having is that it is difficult for the tokens to register (mose fall straight thru to the front tray at the bottom) and it doesn't seem to be playing correctly (I can't register more than 3 credits).

I'm looking for a manual and a couple replacement light bulbs.
Everything else appears to be in good working order and the machine looks good and shows very little wear.

This manual may help.  At least it is in English.

This forum is a good source of info as well.

I would try cleaning the token slide with a q-tip, allot of grime gets caught in there. Also not sure when you are inserting the tokens, but when the reels are running the tokens will spit out. The credits will only go up to 50 on these machines. I'm a member of both http://www.pachitalk.com (http://www.pachitalk.com) and http://www.pachislodb.com (http://www.pachislodb.com) both are great sources for these Japanese machines. As for bulbs I recommend http://www.gaktradinginc.com (http://www.gaktradinginc.com) great source for machines, parts, and player guides! I've owned many of these machines, they are very well build and over half the weight of American slots. I have Street Fighter 2 and Metal Slug right next to my MAME cab!

And here in Washington state the Pachislo style slot machines are illegal.

Read thru the manual and found another on the Pachislo site.  Removed and throughly cleaned the coin mech, but no improvement. I posted a topic there, so we'll see if I can get it figured out.

Went to the Parts site, but couldn't find the bulbs, I'll keep looking.

Don't know jack about these machines, but thinking about getting some sort of slot mach for our game room so I've been following your posts.

From the way your first post described the symptoms, it struck me when I read through that pdf manual that was posted that it sounds like your machine is in the 'challenge mode' described about halfway through the manual...  it read that only 1-3 tokens could be played, and ALL 150 spins MUST be completed, even if the machine is turned off, etc...

Again, I know nothing about them but your first post and that paragraph in the manual really struck me as very similar, if you've already ruled that out, just ignore this post.  ;)

These are really neat little, realitively inexpensive machines.  They are fun to play with, but are a little different than a Vegas style machine.  In researching this, I found a couple other themes that looked enticing (Star Wars 7 Speed Racer to name a couple!).

I considered the challenge mode too, but I have to add coins to play further, so I don't believe that's the problem.
