hi,
Am trying to find some wire for connecting joysticks and buttons in Ireland, does anyone know if either of these are the same as 22 AWG hook-up wire?

Just going by ampacity, the 3.0A one is between 24-26 AWG, and the 4.5A one is between 24-22 AWG. For connecting joys and buttons, both are OK.
The smaller wire will work fine, electrically, as long as it is compatible with whatever connectors you are using.

Try this - http://www.peats.com/cgi-bin/test_new/catalog.cgi?view_product=1&id=3276&sid=11&cid=135&scid=514
you get 8 strands!

thanks for the help, I think I'll give the 4.5A wire a go, don't fancy hacking away at cat5 :)
