Title: Programmable remote control for computer?
Post by: bmrust on June 29, 2007, 12:08:53 pm
Anyone know of such a beast?  I want to have a remote that can Pause / Play / Volume Up / Volume Down / Skip Forward  for my jukebox.  The remotes ive seen are all proprietary and come with software that you must use...  But all I want is a remote that emulates keyboard button presses.

Any ideas?

Try this device.  Girder is a bit of a bug to program but works well when done.

i have something very similar to that... i have not used it in ages.. but it worked fine when i tried it.

most remotes i have seen have been designed for mce.  i really like the new gyration remote.. but its too rich for my blood.

ATI (now AMD) All-In-Wonder video cards come with a remote with RF control.  There are few programmable buttons there.  You can also buy the remore with USB received separately.

Check these FREE programs:

I plan on using one or the other on my Jukebox/Pinball WIP with an old RealMagic remote control gathering dust ..haven't tested them yet, so can't really say much more about them. Those too look promising, anyway  :)
