It's in my area, I was thinking about picking it up. Waiting on pics via email, but wanted to get a general consensus from the group here as far as that price. Here's the text in the ad:
"Full size arcade Game,Looks and works good
Original cabinet and artwork
$150.00 Firm"
Please drop a reply or leave me a message.

I would have to see & try out the machine, but if it is what it states it is, I would be all over the machine for $150.00

Get it quick!

DON'T BUY THAT GAME! It's likely the worst game ever made!!! :laugh2: :laugh2:
I made the mistake of getting one - similar price and local. It was my first game when I got the idea of collecting. It was just horrible. I was lucky to resell it for $50 profit.
If you're itching for a game - ANY GAME WILL DO - type thing, yeah, the price is right.
But beware it's huge, it's heavy as hell and it SUCKS!!!
-
play it first......
its like Joust.... the first is amazing, the sequel blows

:banghead: :dizzy:
ha ha ha, ok, serves me right for thinking I'd get a definitive response... DOH!
It was sort of a gotta have something now kind of thing.... Got the girlfriend her air hockey table last month. My MAME cab conversion (from a trashed/gutted Dbl. Dragon/Tekken conversion) is moving along, but I'm probably at least a month or so from being done. (will post project in announcements shortly) ((also gonna have a few parts that were in the cab to sell/trade/give away too, don't know if they are original DD or Tekken, will get those up soon))
Anyhow, long story short, I got it, although I wish I had seen the post about size and weight before I lugged the beast home by myself (this thing weighs more than that Delorean being talked about elsewhere).
Here's a couple pics, everything works. Needs a few lightbulbs, and a minor adjustment/tune-up on the controls to bring them back to zero. Someone wanna point me in the right direction to post a few newb questions about that? Also ended up partially contracting myself to help the guy get his Frontline cab operational, also in super clean condition, just locked away in storage cause he doesn't know what's wrong with it... I digress, that's a story for another post.
Here's my new toy:

Well at least you got 2 monitors and 2 steering wheels for your effort. I was wondering why it played split screen in MAME. Now I know.
-
Considering the overall game room, I would not regret this
purchase. Feel good about it, the machine looks great!

actually its only one monitor. the 'split screen' in mame is an overlay im guessing...

still, for $150 its a cool looking cab (",)
-
That sure looks like two monitors.
Disturbed - can you clear this up? It's been way too long since I played that game on an original machine, can't remember...
-
Spy Hunter II uses one monitor with a weird bezel that splits the screen
-
The side view looks like 2 screens but the in the front view you can see the profile of the large monitor behind the 2 bezels. Still a good catch.
-
Nice. Fairly rare game!
-
I'm pretty sure it's one big monitor with a thick split in the bezel. Haven't dug into the back yet, but from the front its sits too close (on) the monitor so I can't peek around the front of the split. Still, I'm pretty sure it is just one monitor and some creative programming tricks so the two 'halves' display different content at different times, even the title and bonus point screens have different timing. I will confirm for sure when I get time to open things up. For the weight of the thing you'd think there was two... I can't for the life of me figure out what is in there to make it so damn heavy.

Yeah...I would have passed on that one, and went for the Frontline. That game rocks. I'm afraid you'll grow tired of SH2 real quick. Good luck.
-
yeah, you can see it even just looking at the pic that the bezel is shaped for one large screen...
-
The Frontline wasn't for sale, couldn't convince him, he had his own sentimental attachment to that one, and now wants to pay me to help him fix it. I'm a little busy trying to finish up the mame cab and now recondition this one too, but I forsee the Frontline at least visiting me for a little while ;D
Anyone have a manual for the Spy Hunter II or know how to tune the steering/sticks/pedals? I don't think it's going to be difficult, but thought I'd ask here before I go poking around on my own.
