There is a fully working golden tee that I can get for $150. Good monitor and everything, would that be worth it, I was thing about getting the bowling game to go in it instead but hey it is a good golf game. Also it has a working bill validator and everything.

for 150 Id buy it just for the monitor. golf sucks, but you could prolly put a centipede in there =)
-
Dedicated or conversion?
-
$150 ?!? Heck yeah.
As far as golf games go, the Golden Tee series is by far the better of them IMO.
But like Peale asked..... deicated or conversion? (that would be another decisive factor)
-
UM I'm not 100% sure, here is a pic. Centipede uses a vertical monitor, this one has a horizonal, unless I can juse rotate it?

Monitor is worth more than that. Sell the board on ebay and get all your money back.
-
What kind of monitor is it, that makes it so special?
Hawk
-
Not really special but it is a really big arcade monitor.
Check on the price of a 27 inch arcade monitor. I think it is too big for a centipede (19 inch vert) but vertical games play about true size on
a horizontal 27,
-
I'm almost certain it's a conversion, just can't place what cab that is.
Positive that's a 25inch monitor.
I believe the original Centipede reference was just because they knew it had a trackball.....
It appears to be in good shape and solid.
I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat for $150.
-
Centipede is a chick game. Golden Tee is a blast! ;)
Definitely worth 150 in working condition.

Well thrown me in a dress and call me Sally ... oh wait ... that line has been taken ... :-[

I actually like Golden Tee. Never woulda thunk it, but what can ya say. I'd buy that and keep it as is for one-fifty, christ. Where is this kid finding this stuff?

Under rocks and in caves. This is a jamma game correct? Even if I don't like the game, I can get a wheel and pedals, and put an off road challenge in there.

Definitely a conversion - a good one too. Nice custom side art.
Either a Mortal Kombat cab, possibly NBA Jam. Hard to tell, picture is a bit dark.
Monitor is worth $$$ because it's a 25" monitor. You can't buy them new anymore.
It's likely a K7000, but not necessarily.
Worth the $150.
-
Thats almost 100% definately a mortal kombat cab, I know, I have one.
I'd strip the black off the side and see if theres a Johnny Cage, Raiden, Or Shao Kahn & Sindel under there.
And yes I referenced Centipede because of the trackball, but just about any game would be awesome sauce in that cab, nice spacious CP to boot.
-
I'm so hyped about getting this now, because I with this cab, it will be my second jamma cab, I have a vertical, with a multiboard going in it, and now with this one I can restore it back to Mortal Kombat, which was the only reason that I was wanting MAME in the first place. This is friggin sweet, so anybody want a goolden tee 99 board, maybe trade for a complete working Mortal Kombat 1 board with wound and complete harness?

Going to go get this now, can't wait, should be back in about 2 hours.

PM sent.

Got it today, glad that I did, yeah mortal kombat is definitely under it. I played the game today, and it was actually fun. I've played it before, but it was worth it. The monitor has no screen burn at all and is good and bright, and really worth it. Glad that I got it.

I'm in the NC/SC area. A couple months ago I could have got a Fully working ivan stewart 3 player off road challenge for a little under $200. I wish I would have now.

Wow, that would a been great if you had room for it. That game Rocks!
-
Yeah that was a killer instinct before it was golden tee, and that kinda sucks cause I never played killer instinct but oh well maybe it's a new fun game.

I just googled this, and it has some really bad @$$ side art, I might restore it back to that game. How would I go about getting the black paint off without messing up the original side art? And does any body have a killer instinct PCB?
Hawk

Bump, so whats the best way to strip that paint off the original side art?

Also note, Killer instinct ran with a board and hard drive, and MANY people have replaced the hard drive with a RAM drive it also requires a rom to be replaced, so if you eBay it up for a KI board set, try to get one thats already been converted. I personally like KI2 a lot better then KI1 but they are both great.
If it was a KI1 cab ,its black and has a giant picture of Spinal; if its a KI2, its orange/yellow and has a giant picture of Orchid on the side. Until you mentioned it, I totally forgot that KI shipped in Midway cabs
-
Definitely a good find. I'm shocked someone put that much effort into converting it. Of course Killer Instinct had art on pretty much every panel of the cabinet. They went out of their way with the golf stencil, though.
Personally, I was never a huge fan of Killer Instinct. As stated it's wired for JAMMA, so MK or pretty much any fighting game could go in that cabinet without much effort.
Although those cabinets were known mostly for Mortal Kombat 2-4, Midway/Atari used them in almost everything that they released during the 90's that wasn't a shooting or driving game. As far as I can tell the 4-player cabinets are the same except the control panels. Here's most games using it:
Midway 2-player
MK 2-4
Killer Instinct 1-2
War Gods
4-player variant
NBA Jam & TE
NFL BLitz, 99, & 2000
NHL 2-on2 Open Ice Challenge
NBA Showtime
Atari Games
Mace
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey (4-player)
War-Final Conflict
Radikal Bikers

Yeah the jamma harness in this thing was cut, and the players joysticks, and button wires where removed, so I would have to rewire the entire cabinet with new harness.

That's really annoying. Why they would have done that? Putting in a new harness really shouldn't be that hard in a spacious cabinet like that. The worst part is just crimping that many connectors. You could always buy a "deluxe harness" that already has the connectors on it. The downside of those is that there's extra cost and your wiring won't be as tidy in the end since you'll probably have extra lengths of wire.
-
Yeah I'm not really worried about this cabinet yet, I am still working on my multiboard cab, and then i'll work on this one, maybe convert back to Killer Instinct, or maybe even an IVAN Stewarts Off road, the monitor is right, and the cab is big enough for the controls, plus I really like that game.
