Wow I have seen a few "odd" cab designs before nut the reds seem to have a monopoly
I would love the silver ball one

Lol, "good times" indeed. Poor people. Even their cabs looked depressing.
-
Wow, no wonder they aren't a superpower anymore... ;)
-
They look like recycled kitchen appliances!!
-
It's cruel to laugh... but some of those cabs look like the builder literally put a tv in with a frame around it...

That's how some of the earliest ones made in the US were done, too.

i was posting this not to make fun, but to show an until now unknown side of arcade gaming. all weve ever heard about was 'polyplay' from east germany. it looks like these wouldnt have been half bad. im really hoping that these will make it to mame one day so we can see what the ruskies were playing when we were playing pacman and mario. until now i didnt even imagine they had games at all...
-
Well, you called it "good times" (although my russian is not that good, so I could have gotten that wrong) and you put a wink under the link. I kinda took that as a joke on them.
I didn't know they had videogames either. Would be cool to see how the games actually were.
BTW funny how far away they have the CP from the screen

I wonder if the hockey game has the USSR vs. USA ?

Yeah, and if you can press the 'boo' button while the Russian anthem is playing!

You could, and it immediately called the KGB.
Some of the best Russian Chexx players are now chipping ice blocks in Siberia!

That is the creepy-cade. I'm thinking some of those things are radioactive test machines. Do I see blood on one of those?

actually, one is skating in Edison, New Jersey...
Just before this year's Red Square game, a buddy of mine was playing in his FD/EMS weekday AM pick-up game. The rink manager asked if it was okay if a former NHL'er skated with them. Turns out it was Sergei Starikov, getting in a last minute workout before flying to Moscow. One of the guys on Segei's "team" was a puck hog, and wouldn't pass. Starikov skated past the bench and said "I'm world champion and NHL hockey player... why he no pass to me?"

Now I see where the Xenophobe cab idea came from. :)

Hehe, "the reds". That just takes me back to some cold war days...

Personally, I liked the machine where the joystick had a mind of its own...down and to the left...down and to the left...not straight, down and to the left.
That must be a gem of a game to play now...woo hoo, let's go straight...nope...woo hoo, let's go right...nope...let's go down and to the left...woo hoo!!
