Just bought an old Mario cab today and I need to know how to open the coin box without having the keys. If there isn't a way then how do i make that area functional, do i need to replace it?

You can drill out the lock and just replace the lock. Or if you can get in the back door you may be able to reach the lock and undo the nut on it.

If you drill out the lock, use the smallest possible bit and don't go all the way through to the latch. Just drill out the tumblers. This way, you can use any small key (or screwdriver) to open it and it remains fully functional -- albeit with little security.

One thing I've never understood is how to effectively drill out the cylindrical/cam locks? The standard key lock was easy. I gave up on my cabinet with the other type. :dunno

the cylindrical/cam locks?
Do you mean the ones that use the round key with notches on it like a "freezer key" ?

I will initially call ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow--- on that one...but I'll still mess around with it anyways ;D. Odds are that don't apply to vending locks. Otherwise every tom, dick, and harry in the world would be breaking into games/vending machines/ pop machines/ gumball machines on a regular basis with their handy cardboard lockpick.

I didnt watch the video but apparently you can do it with a Bic pen.
