My faulty Wei Ya E0007 chassis has now been fixed and checked. There is a hum from flyback when on and the tube has a faint orange glow at back.
The games board is attached and working, but still NO sign of any picture or anything on monitor.
Any ideas for a layman.
Cheers

Screen control turned up?

Screen control on Flyback turned right up, but nothing!

double check you have all the plugs connected, specially the earth lead to the neck card from the tube braid-mind you you should still get some kind of picture
the only time i have had a monitor power up with heaters but not produce any kind of picture was on a tatung chassis and that was down to the video decoder ic on the neck but i am not familiar with your chassis so to say its the same fault would be a wild guess
you say the chassis has been repaired and checked,is this by a professional repair company?the reason i ask is that if the chassis did check out ok with them then maybe you should look towards things like a bent pin on the neck-something that is unique to your setup
-
Thanks Grant.
Have double checked all connections (all ok).
Jomac in OZ serviced and had the chassis up and running well.
All pins into neck board good.
Jomac said (i may not of remembered this correctly) but if the video signal from the board is not getting to chassis then some tubes have auto cutout/shutdown. Have you heard of this? If so how do I check this?
Also they said the Vaccum (i think it was) may have gone fron tube, so no way to fix.
Cheers

not come across a tube shutdown before, the one thing i would really check is the remote adjustments board-did you send that to joey as well.
i know on hantarex polo2 if the adjustment board is disconnected or plugged in wrong then you don't get a picture although you get chassis activity, now whether this is the case with your chassis i don't know but its something to look at

You have said it has a hum from the flyback.... but do you get the High Voltage crackle when you turn it on?
If you turn the SCREEN voltage up you should still be able to make the screen turn brighter even if there is no game attached at all. (unless Joey is right on this model about the chassis shutdown) (good guy too by the way)
Can you take a pic of your video connection to the monitor?
Is the ground on that connection there?
Have you tried this game on any other monitors?
-
Thanks Kevin. Does not seem to be much of a crackle as normal TV on switch on. High voltage turned right up. Not sure about the ground. The board/tube/chassis are original ones in cabinet (gottlieb Raiden 2 1995) Attached pics.

Have you tried another video signal source, to rule out that your monitor is working fine, and your board is shot?
-
Thanks. Only have the one machine. Is there any other way of testing the video signal?
Cheers
-
have you metered the monitor input voltage yet?
-
Is that the voltage from the transformer to the Chassis?

Is that the voltage from the transformer to the Chassis?

yep

If Jomac checked it out and it worked for him then the problem lies with either your tube/yoke or your gameboard/cabinet wiring.
