Yep ... :dunno
I waited a LONG time before I finally found one at what I considered reasonable price ($30 Cdn, including the CP and big 2-way joystick it was mounted on).
Cheers

Probably one of the most expensive joysticks ever & of course one of my favorite games. Wait Tron is one of my favorites too...
:banghead:

If only Fozzy would put his fisheye lenses and lightgun hacks away and get back to casting these! :laugh2: (J/K)
-
That adds to the ST yolk, today, that went for $217 - before shipping. Christ, that's what I paid for Ram one. Of course, it isn't ready, yet. Waiting can be tedious....though, lately, I keep forgetting I ordered it.
-
Dang that's a lot. I grabbed an NOS set off of eBay last September for $40 incl. shipping.
-
Y'all think those are bad, have a look at this here:
NOS Monroe Joystick on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110136887700&rd=1&rd=1)
Amazing what "NOS" did to the price of this- I see used ones going for sub-$20 most of the time, in fact I bought one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330127453588&rd=1&rd=1) for considerably less just last week.
Dang nice sticks, but that's just plain crazy. :dizzy:

It's getting insane! Makes me want to take my set off and sell them and use a set of Gorf handles in their place.
There is also currently a set of red Satans Hollow handles with 3 triggers right now with a Buy it Now price of $135. Someone bid $70 and that didn't meet the reserve. It's nuts! :dunno

I'm just going to hang on to my Gorf handles then, maybe they will be valued at $500 in a month or so at this rate ;D
-
Yeah, the Satan's Hollow stick handles are the worse ones, by far. Less of them and more spendy... plus a cooler color, IMO. I'm still really surprised no one has made a cast run of them (I'm not counting the one in progress until we see at least a prototype completed. It has been a long time.)

I'd like to check that one out. I'm not in that market, though.

I'm not sure they aren't being recast, and billed as NOS.
I saw some Tron sticks that were being sold with transparent blue triggers awhile back.
-
BTW....what does NOS mean anyway?
-
NOS = New "Old Stock"
-

It's supposed to mean New Old Stock... but too many ebay sellers don't seem to know what it means, only that it's good for getting bids. I've seen plenty of obviously used items sold as "NOS", even some that say right in the description that they were just pulled from working machines. "NOS" should only be used for parts that have never been used or installed.

You might be on to something there. There sure has been a glut of handles on ebay recently, both Tron blue and Satan's Hollow red. Until recently, you never saw the red ones, but for the last couple months it seems like there's always a set of each for sale.

By the same seller, and one at a time.
If only one is for sale, the price goes up.

NOS isn't the only phrase that's abused. Mint, Near Mint, MIB, and RARE all get abused. It's only rare if there isn't 36 other auctions selling the exact same item, mint doesn't exist and a Block Buster sticker does not constitute NM status in any country. It'd be nice to flag sellers who tend to abuse those phrases.

Yep, I looked for a Satan's Hollow handle for years... finally found a NOS one in someone's basement that was a tossin while I was buying two cabs from them. He didn't have change, I had hundreds, he asked if he could toss something for the extra $25... I saw the Satan's Hollow handle and pointed at it. It wasn't with my finger either.

Good thing I was drinking water...it will make the cleanup easier. ;D :laugh2:

NOS set up on ePay ...

BIN of $200 ... woof ...

I saw the newest set of "gold" handles this morning. It's getting ridickulous! But the problem is that there are people out there willing to spend CRAZY money for a set of those handles. Until people stop paying those outrageous prices it will continue. Supply & demand at it's finest.

gold handles? Link? Would be interesting to see.
I'm starting to think more and more that the best small arcade related enterprise out there right now would be manual casting of NLA parts.

Hmmm...we don't know anyone who was working on this do we??? ;)
You'd think Fozzy would have picked up the pace by now to cash in...unless he has already and that is where the sticks are coming from. :laugh2:
-
Yeah, that was suggested above... I poked through some of the auctions, though, and they seem to be coming from all different sellers. Unless Fozzy has a bunch of accounts with triple digit feedback, which is doubtful.
It's probably a case of one going really high and then a bunch more coming off old stocks to cash in while the iron is hot.

Hey, I pulled mine off today to have a look at it ... I could be convinced for enough $$$ (but it would have to be a big number).
-
I'll give you my gorf handles to replace the tron ones, but you have to give me a cut of the eBay sale ;D
-
:laugh2: The "gold" handle reference was me just being a bit on the sarcastic side.
Although the might look sharp gold. Might have to spray my Gorf handles and see. 8)

There seems to be plenty of demand for more Tron handles...I would think some one with some plastic casting talent could turn this into a decent side income. No?
