Does the name of your 45° map match the name the q-bert.ugc has?
-
is the .um file the map? :dunno If so I don't have a um file for q-bert. All the other ones work though.

here is the error I am getting

here is the error I am getting
Yikes!! :o The analog setting for Qbert would not be good! ;D
-
Can anyone post this file or send it to me? squirrellydw at gmail dot com

Why not just make a new one?
-
how do I do that?

The message is being generated by UltraMap when trying to download the appropriate UGC file to the UltraStik 360. The UGC file contains maps for each joystick and in this case the one mentioned in the error is missing. This is a standard map so if you can drop me an email I'll send it.

email sent, thanks

OK, Andy says it's not a standard file and he doesn't have one. He said I could try to rename one so I m going to try that but if that doesn't work can some please post one or email it to me.
Thanks

There is a tool out there (on the Ultimarc website from memory) that you can use to make your own maps for the U360s.
All you need after that is to know how the map should look for a 45 degree rotated game like Q-Bert.
Luckily, the review of the U360s on the Retroblast website gives you precisely that:
http://www.retroblast.com/reviews/Ultimarc_Ultrastick_0925006-01.html
I'd help more if I could. I've already purchased two U360s from Andy but I am *months* away from using them yet... otherwise I'd have emailed you a map :P
But hopefully this is enough to get you going.

Fatfingers plug-in for Mala includes a qbert.ugc map file:
# This is an Ultimarc UltraStik Game Configuration file
UltraStikGameConfigurationFileFormatVersion=1.0
UltraStik1MapFile=4-Way, 45 Degree Angle
UltraStik2MapFile=4-Way, 45 Degree Angle
UltraStik3MapFile=
UltraStik4MapFile=
This is what's calling the UltraMap app and it points to a file "4-Way, 45 Degree Angle.um" which it expects to find wherever all your other UltraMap map files are.
I think Andy's 45 Degree Map just has a different filename. Either rename it to match the qbert.ugc map, or modify the filename in qbert.ugc to match Andy's and you should be good to go.

Sorry for the slow response, I have been out for a week.
Posted below is the contents of the 4-Way, 45 Degree Angle.um file that needs to be in the Maps subdirectory of the UltraMap installation dir. Usually this is C:\Program Files\UltraMap\Maps.
Enjoy.
