I don't agree that Mario Brothers belongs in there, and I think Defender does.

There is no disputing that Nintendo made an empire out of Mario, but that game isn't a major part of it.
With games like Berzerk, Tempest, Galaxian, Galaga, Gorf, Joust, Q*Bert, Robotron and Punchout not even making the list, I don't even thing Mario Bros. deserves a place in the 20.

Where's Super Mario Bros.

Street Fighter 2

Not faves of mine but they had quite the following in their day.

Super Mario Bros wasn't an arcade game... the arcade version was just an NES in a cab.

There were a number of differences between the arcade  Vs. SMB and the nes SMB. The arcade version was harder.

That just makes it a variant of the console game.  Given the list we're discussing, I wouldn't bother with SMB in any way.  Were it an arcade only game it wouldn't even be mentioned.

There are a lot of omissions, but I think they are just trying to cover genres more than individual representation. Still, I would love to Ms. Pac-Man in the running...

Agreed.  Either Defender or Robotron should take Mario Bros' spot.

They appear to be going with crap they can cross promote.  I can't see any top ten list not including Star Wars.

Well in all honesty, the list should be considered very controversial.

IMO, these two...
Robotron
Dig Dug

Should replace these two...
Mario Bros
Pole Position
