For the past couple of weeks, I've been thinking what to do in the summer. And I've decided to build a MAME cabinet. Internet was a big help with finding information about already build cabinets and cool stuff that you can do with MAME.
But now, I'm stuck with a problem. There are so many kinds of arcadesticks, that I have no idea, which one could be ideal for the thing I have in mind.
Most of the games I want to play, will be the 2D fighting games (like Street Fighter and the King of Fighters series), Beat 'm ups (like Final Fight, Street of Rage and Aliens vs Predator) and 2D side scroll shooters (like Darius Twin).
I'll live in the Netherlands and there's only one arcadeshop here. And they're only selling the pre-made X-arcade controllers and the X-arcade spare-part joysticks and buttons.
What I would like to know is; could somebody tell me which stick(s) would be ideal for the games that I have in mind. And if those X-arcade spare-part joysticks and buttons are worth concidering?
I hope my problem is clear and that somebody can help me. =)

Some people on the boards will tell you to stay away from X-Arcade stuff. Others will say that they are ok for starter systems.
My personal recomendation is to go to GroovyGameGear.com and order the Happ Competition joysticks and buttons. Add the KeyWiz keyboard encoder and you are good to go with a standard setup. By ordering all your items from one location you save on the shipping costs.
Good luck on your build and take plenty of pics.

For 2D fighters that is the stick you want, but check around. Divemaster maybe cheaper on items/shipping to where you are.
