Title: Mitsubishi Megaview XC 3315C Should I consider it?
Post by: MajorHavoc on June 03, 2007, 08:03:01 am
I've got a line on a Megeview 3315C.  He's asking about $100.00 for it.  I'm going to probably look it over tomorrow.  Since this monitor supports S-Video, would I get a decent results with using my tv out capability or will the signal suffer from the fuzzies?  Any info from anyone using one of these would be appreciated.  I like the size but if I'm going to be stuck with a white elephant......well, you get the picture.

TIA
Mike

If it has vga input, screw the S-video. Even more so, is it a multi-sync?  If either is, let alone both are, yes - hell yeah get it.

According to the info I was able to dig up online, the monitor has BNC, MAC 15 pin, composite and s-video inputs.  The monitor is multisynch/multiscan.  I'm going to go take a look at it tomorrow and try it out with my laptop which has s-vid out.

Those are pretty good for MAME I'd think.  I've got a 3715C which is the larger version, and the scan range was about 15-38 KHz horizontally if I recall.  Works great for AdvanceMAME, and as a bonus, this is one of few large monitors that can do interlaced video at 15KHz which is a nice value add if you have a Dreamcast and want to use the hacked 15KHz instead of VGA for games.

On a side note, I've never gotten the MAC input to display video from a PC or Dreamcast.  Shouldn't a PC -> MAC monitor adapter be enough for compatibility or is something screwy about the MAC VGA connection?

Here you go: http://www.angrymods.com/mame/mitsu.htm

Testu: I'd think you'd probly know more than most but I'm guessing since it doesn't there must be some sort of identifier component in the signal a mac sends.

Good deal, in more than one way.
