Way back in High School I played the pnp game and have enjoyed all the previous video game adaptations of Shadowrun. Having said that, this FPS 360 game is an all around let down. I think it's the first game that has ever left me fuming mad.
This game is basically a mediocre Counter Strike clone. Capture the flag, with trolls! There isn't any type of single player story mode. Bots and maps and 12 year olds online. Wee! They focused completely on the online multiplayer..which is a decent capture the flag. But that's it! Two modes of capture the flag! They don't even explain the differences between game modes in the game. The most interesting gameplay aspect is the teleport, where you can zoom short distances through walls. They don't realy explain what this artifact flag thing is...or why I'm in Brazil...and not Seattle with Chummers and vampires or any of the stuff that made Shadowrun interesting.
Can't wait for the downloadable content microtransaction rapeage. Maybe they will release a patch that will make me forget I ever purchased this junk.
A truly disgraceful flushing of an Intellectual Property. Shame on FASA, shame on Microsoft.

I feel your pain. It seems like there's a reason there is no demo on Live yet.

I think they used an existing name that people were familiar with in order to ensure sales of what amounts to nothing more than a consumer-funded test of their 360 vs. PC over Live setup. On some forums, everyone thinks that people are ticked that it doesn't resemble the 16-bit games, failing to realize that those were inspired by a P&P RPG. Even knowing that, they still don't get the fact that they're actually being gypped out of a much better game based on 20 years worth of lore.

I liked the demo. I think it is better than counter strike.
It is disappointing to not have a single player campaign but if you play with the right folks its a blast.

I've read some favorable reviews, and I'm sure that there's fun to be had. It's just not Shadowrun.
