I was wondering if anyone might be interested in doing some artwork for me for an upcoming project I am considering. I am going to be purchasing a bartop kit from mameroom and am wanting a little artwork for the control panel. What I am wanting is a thundercat theme, which may or may not work. For the side art and marquee I could probably come up with something myself, but I wanted to seek someone services to do a control panel. I am willing to pay for the work done, but would like to see and idea of the work before I commit. I might even decide I need sideart as well. If anyone is interested please let me know. I do not have any images I'd like to use so I'm leaving it up to whoever to use there creativeness.
Here is the bartop I am going to be ordering:

I think this is an interesting theme -
What kind of theme person are you? Do you like to have characters on the CP? If so - what characters would you want? I would refuse to put snarf anywhere on it.
What color is the t-molding going to be?
Are you going with the default 6 button and joystick layout on the bartop?
-
This is what I was thinking. For the tmolding I would do red to match the thundercats symbol. The b uttons would either be the default layout of a joystick and 6 buttons, or an addition joystick for robotron etc. I was going to see if I could get the thundercat logo printed on the buttons decals, and have red buttons that looked like the thundercat symbol. On the side art at first I was thinking about just putting a large thundercats symbol on their, but I think it might look better with something more. For the characters, I'd probably want the main thundercats, excluding the new three that came in later in the series. I'd also definately want Mumma Ra and the mutants perhaps. I know its alot to fit on a small control panel so It might could be balanced between the sideart or front of the bartop. I had thought about having lion hold the sword of omens out, and the joystick be where the eye is with the rest of the sword stretching out. I dunno whatelse I would do in the background though.

Sounds cool, but very hard.
Also, how can you possibly
leave out Uncle Osbert?

Thanks I'll check it out. I'm thinking I'm going to have to find a posters or comicbook to scan and use as theres not alot of vectored artwork for thundercats.
-
I have considered buying this same kit. Please post pics when you get it. I may have questions for you once you have this.
-
Yeah I'll be sure to. From what I've heard from people on the forums there pretty sturdy. I'm thinking about using a ultramarc360 joystick so I dont have to even use a keyboard encoder.
-
I colored some of the comic books. I can look and see if I still have any of the hi res files.
-
That would be awesome if you did. Please let me know.

Does anyone happen to have a vector of the thundercats logo?
-
I remember Add_Enuff posting some fonts but could not locate the post.

you have all you need in the font.
Once you used the font to place the logo, text and so on. select the text blocks and using the Text menu //
convert font to path. this will convert as mentioned the font to vector path. then you can scale it as much as you want.

has there been any progress?
do you need more images?

To be honest I've been working on my frogger bartop and artwork right now. Its for my dads birthday so it had more of a timeline. I'm almost done with the artwork, so I'll probably start back on the thundercats soon.
I was thinking of sort of a collage of the artwork you gave me for the sideart/control panel. Do you have any ideas?
-
i had actually been thinking about it alot lately...
and might work on a t-cats themed cabinet myself...
assuming i ever finish my in progress cabinet.
pardon if i havent sent all of these pics.
anyhoo... i was thinking of a neon mame pattern.
what i was for the the control panel would be a lit
trackball in red. if one could get a cats-eye marble styled
cue ball to replace the trackball... then see image 1.
the side panels clearly needs a thundercats logo centered,
and lit red.
maybe tracing and cutting the mumra/ lion-o out from the
cetner panels of image 2. lion-o one one side. mumra on the other.
fit would/ might be something dynamic on the bottom of the sides.
something down in the kick plate region
im at a little bit of a loss for the marquee though.

I think for a marquee the world thundercats in the font possible colored with a metal look. I was thinking about the same image for the center of the control :)
