I am new to this board so hello everyone. I have finished my basement and have a touchscreen jukebox that I put together. I would now like to have it so that it would be coin operated, the software I am using allows for this. My problem is that I know nothing about coin mechs etc. Im thinking I need something that would plug directly into the wall outlet because I have no power supply(like in a mame ) any help would be appreciated.

I simply attached the ends of the coin door microswitch to a keyboard encoder (which gets it's power from the computer). This way, when you put a coin in the slot then the microswitch closed and causes the keyboard encoder to generate the keypress it which it is configured to generate.
If you would like to light up the little lightbulbs used for the coin door, then I would suggest to use the PC power supply. You plug the PC power supply into the wall and then attach the wires from the lightbulbs to one of the 5V lines coming from the power supply.

It does also depend on what software you are using... Coin support is not a straight forward issue as i found out. It was hard to read credits if they were inserted whilst a song or video was changing. You really need to test it all works using a keyboard first before hooking up the mech to make sure any issues you run into are not to do with the software. It will help you to trouble shoot if it doesn't seem to work.
