Title: Rebuilding MAME sets?

Why is it that when I rebuild a complete set of mame roms to an older version of mame, I end up with missing roms. Don’t the newer versions of mame still have all the older roms? Im using Clrmamepro by the way. This is probably a stupid question, but I never went backwards before, always upgraded.

Some of the roms were changed over the various versions of MAME.  You will have to locate what is called a 'rollback' set to fix those 'missing' roms.  There is more information on the web you just have to find it.  Anything more here and it would go against the forum rules.  Remember Google is your friend.

Well I was talking more like going from say version 115 back to 60, don’t think I could find that kind of rollback. But I did find them individually and completed the set. Basically just wanted to confirm I wasn’t doing something wrong.  Thanks.
