hi guys,i need some help.i have just purchased a new mobo-Intel DG965RYCK Motherboard
and a E4300 Core 2 Duo Processor and i want to get a new psu to cover the extra power draw,at present i have a 300watt which i think is not man enough for the job.
does anyone know what sort of power psu i need to run perfectly

That greatly depends on what other hardware you'll be running...

pci-e gfx,160gb hd,dvd rewriter not much else

The 300 watt might do depending on the GPU you use. If you use a low end card that doesn't take a molex of it's own you could give it a shot.
If you are still worried or might ad componants later get a 500- 600 watt.
Check newegg and get one that the reviews say is reliable.

i am using a 300w at present and have had a couple of issue's whereby on the odd occasion when i switch on using the power button i get start up for a second and then it cuts out, once i repress the button no more problems,i did not have this issue with my last mobo setup and i am sure the switch is o.k,any idea's because i was putting it down to a power draw issue

Go to best buy, compusa, fry's or whatever local place that might have them on sale and buy a whatever is around $50-60...I'd assume ~500 watt. Hook it up and if you don't have that issue then your 300 may just be faulty. If it still has the issue then check the connections...
Now you can take back or keep the one you just bought.
While 300 watt might work it's is pretty low by todays standards.
