Can anyone recommend a simple encoder for a Jukebox that will only use about 20 buttons total? (no joysticks, trackballs, or spinners) just something simple. (I don't want to do the keyboard hack unless there is a simpler version)
I know they will all work, but I don't need the top of the line here.
Also, what can I use for a power source for lit buttons that require 14v?

I believe the PC fan plugs are only 5v (correct?)

Funny that you have posted this as I was about to ask the same question. My order of the Happs Low Profile Buttons arrived a couple of days ago but I have not yet figured out a solution for the 14v bulbs.
I orderd a mixture of the following:

Which jukebox software are you using?.

An I-PAC 2 would do this, or a Mini-PAC with button harness if you want to save time with the wiring. There are many other alternatives.
You could probably use 12 volts for the lamps. Just connect into a spare PC disk power connector. The yellow wire is 12 volts, black Ground.

The 161 bulbs will work fine at 12V. They are mainly used in auto industry, where voltages range from 11-14 Volts. I wouldn't spend any time, money, or thought on running these at 14V rather than 12V.
I think that the mini-pac may be on sale right now, too... There was a thread that Andy posted somewhere stating this recently.

The Mini-Pac sale is what triggered me to post this topic.
BUMMER! I just ordered the Mini-Pac & Mounting feet and when I went to checkout, I was charged $14 for DHL shipping (and given no alternatives!) I'm not in a hurry it can take a week or 2. $14! C'mon. There's a dropdown selection for shipping and a "change shipping" button, but no options.
What gives!?!?!?!

Did you use this link?

The first mini-pac listed shows as "Free Air Mail shipping".

Thanks.
Sorry to sound clueless. I have hacked a power supply before for coin door lights but for 20 bulbs is there a particular way to wire them up (eg daisy chain style etc) ?.

HoopZ, THANKS!!!!
your link worked, with no shiping!!!!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
(I don't know why the other link was different)
THANKS again! I ordered it just fine!

I just realized the difference. I wanted the one with the cable, it charges the shipping, the one without does not charge shipping.
shoot, I ordered the wrong one!

I should have posted this link also. Sorry!
