Title: Experienced BYOAC member needed in LA (CA) for repair job, will pay $$$
Post by: DreamArcades on May 22, 2007, 03:55:24 pm
I had a 3-sided cocktail delivered to Valley Village, CA today. Apparently the driver's liftgate wasn't working and they attempted to lift it off of the tuck by the head-to-head controls.

Of course one side broke off and the shipping company doesn't want to pay to ship it back.

So I'm looking for an experienced BYOAC member to go out there and bolt in a new control panel and put one some cocktail clips.

The control panel bolts on with two bolts and plugs into the controls with a PS/2 cable and a 40-pin IDC connector (I have a setup DVD that shows how this is done).

The cocktail clips are plastic hold the acrylic in place. They each take one screw and probably will require a small pilot hole with a power screw driver.

It should be fairly straight forward and shouldn't take much more than 1 hour.

I was thinking $50 seems fair???

Any interest from someone living around there?

I heard that Christian made the stuff for pretty much everybody else - they just sold 'em after market. Guess this is so.

You mean Christain from SlikStik?

I think Scott at mameroom makes cabinets for most of the guys out there.

However, we cut some of our own or have others run at an outside millwork.

WHOA!!! The shipping company jacked the cab up and they won't don't want to ship it back.  If it was me, and it isn't, I would instantly call them up on whatever number and ask the first person who answers the phone to speak to the manager at once.  I'd tell them that since they broke it they either ship it back to you to get it fixed and ship it back to the customer, or you'll bill them for the whole damn unit. :badmood:

Ok, now that I've gone over the top and acted like a jackass, I'd still contact the moving company and tell them it's not your fault that they broke it, but they need to pay someone to fix it.

IANAL, but I can act like an jackass.
