Looks kinda cool but I just dont think people will buy into it.
-
I'd never seen that, but I just bought it hook, line, sinker, and copy of Angling Times.

It does look good. I hopes it makes it but fox is notorious for axing shows before they have a chance to gain an audience. Hell they already canceled family guy twice.
-
Family Guy doesn't have the budget that show appears to have... plus, Family Guy is annoying and stupid.
-
Well now I can rest easy knowing the truth behind River Tam's powers...she's a terminator! :laugh2:

Of course, I guess I'll have to watch the terminator show to find out more about the blue hand guys huh? ;)

Family Guy is an acquired taste. If you don't like it, you need to acquire some taste.
-
wow, is this for real? An actually good show on Fox...oh wait, that's right, they've had good shows before, they just cancel them :laugh2:
-
crashwge's right. I hated it at first, now i love it.

I tried, gave it several chances. Never got through a whole episode. It's like that kid in your 5th grade class that is funny but doesn't know where the line is between funny and being an annoying ass. The one that gets some laughs and then goes way over the line into holy crap get away from me you moron.

Yep, that's Family Guy in a nutshell.

You didn't happen to attend Thorne Elementary in Dearborn Heights for your 5th grade year, did you?
I would have never guessed that was you!
Small world.

Nah. If they get all hoity over someone's opinion, we'll just say get away from us you morons.

These two comments are contradictory.
-
Not at all.
Tried several times. Each time, the episode was lousy enough that I didn't finish it. Each time a different episode, none of them worth finishing. That is several chances with a zero success rate.

I tried to watch Casablanca, but it was all black and whitey, even half way through, so I stopped watching. Casablanca therefore sucks.
Seriously though, family guy is pretty damn funny once you know the characters, and it really is hard to explain what can hook you. For me it was something stewie said as a tiny offhand comment, and it just caught me so offguard that THEN I was hooked.
Of course, I do suppose that my quality of life doesn't change any if you don't like family guy...more tv bandwidth for me! whoo hoo!

Have a glass of water and relax. It's not worth defending. It's a sitcom.

I normally put Family Guy on whenever I'm cooking a meal, since the show is just a bunch of disjointed jokes put together through devices like flashbacks, it works well when I'm not really paying attention. When I do actually sit down and watch an episode, the constant "remember when this happened", cut to flashback, or "this is worse then the time [insert '80s reference here]", cut to flashback, drives me nuts.
I rarely get more then an occasional slight chuckle out of a show.
-
...that seem to inevitably be a sequence of cut scenes with a naked Peter overdoing something that was funny when Homer did it.
