Iv salvaged some parts from a Golden Tee arcade which I am converting to a Mame cabinet. One of these parts is an electronic coin door, I have previously installed the old style coin doors with mechs etc.
My problem is iv never worked with this kind of coin door before and am not sure how it works? I want to set it up to work with my PC but wouldn't know where to start.
Im not sure if this is correct but would the current set up be specific to Golden tee or is it universal?
Help please getting nowhere fast :banghead:
Many thanks in advance.

Any one know how to set one of these things up?

Dedicated games came with a conventional coin door and conventional mechanical coin chutes.
Let's see pictures of what your machine has.

Hi mate sorry camera is out of action at the moment. My old cab had a conventional coin mech but this one has a circuit board and a strip of wires that go to the back of the cabinet. Sorry I realise that pictures would explain it better.

Bump

you're in the u.k so the cab should have a c220b coin mech and a klingon credit board, its very simple set up;the credit board uses +12v, common, coin signal, coin meter output

Yes mate that sounds spot on iv taken some pics Iv also tried to follow the wires to see where they go and they went to the back part of the cabinet and dissapeared into the frame so not sure where they went. Is it easy to set one of these up to a MAME cabinet via my keyboard encoder?

If you've got an I-PAC leyboard encoder, you can connect the coin mech up to the 'COIN IN' input on the I-PAC. But i believe you'll need to add a resistor to the coin signal input of the Coin mech to get the voltage down form 12v to 5v as the I-PAC can only accept up to 5v. Someone correct me if im wrong!?

i know f.a about mame but its sounds like you must have some kind of switch interface to allow your control panel to work,on that interface there may be a coin in connection-if there is all you have to do is connect a wire from the coin in on the interface to the coin line on the credit board.
if you look on the credit board itself it tells you which pins do what
have you removed any of the old wiring/psu etc of the gt
-
Most of the GT is still intact I am running my PC through the GT board via an Acade VGA from Ultimarc so I asume If I can work out which of the 6 wires is the coin signal ie 5 button on mame I can snip it from the board and run it directly into the keyboard encoder without interfering with the power signal.
-
look on the side of the credit board where the plug pins are,you will see each pin marked e.g +12,com,meter one of which is coin output, when you find this just link a wire here to your switch decoder credit input connection,i cannot remember the exact pin but i am sure its o/p 1,i know its one of the top 5 pins, get a better photo of the markings and i will tell you

Yes mate iv looked closer and the symbols are as follows from top to bottom -
SW1
SW2
0V
O/P2
LAMP
12V
?ET (THE FIRST LETTER IS MISSING NOT SURE WHAT THIS ONE IS)
12V
O/P1
0V
KEY
12V

yes straight forward, what you would need to do is splice another wire onto o/p1(credit line) then connect into coin in on whatever decoder you are using.
the letter missing is "m" - its the meter output
the credit board needs to be plugged in
the credit board can be set to give you any price setting

Excelllent mate cant thank you enough I will try this.
