Hey guys,
The cab i recently bought has an old Zenith 25" monitor.. Its from Wells Gardner..
The model number off the chassis is 25K7191.
The prob with the picture is that its overall dull.. The colors are all there its just not very bright. The whites looks yellow/redish. I can see a few jail bars and some jiddering or flickering at times.. Other then that it looks good. I cant see any burn in. Though it just might not be bright enough yet to see it hehe.
I've tried messing with the contrast and black level pots and its either over bright or dull.

Sounds like a tube that needs rejuvinating. Though at this age a cap kit couldn't hurt.
-
Is that hard to do? Is there anything i have to buy to do it? I'm gona buy a cap kit today and would like to grab up all the other parts i may need at the same time.
I was planing on buying a new monitor but funds are tight atm so if i could get some use out of this monitor for a while it would be nice.

You'd need a rejuvinator to do it. Either find a TV shop or maybe someone here on the forums close to you can help.
-
Thanks for the info.. So would a tv repair shop charge alot to do this?
-
I suppose it would depend on the shop. A lot of shops these days likely don't even know what one is. :(
Where are you located?

I'm in Macomb MI USA.

hmm.. Now i have someone else telling me not to and just try the cap fix first.. as it will stress the monitor and you dont want to do it unless you really need it.
heh.. Well someone tell me if a Benson 27" monitor will fit in a former Killer Instink 2 cab? Its 26 3/4" wide.

I'd rather not waste anymore money and time on this and just rather start moving on getting a new monitor since this is the one i wanted to buy for it orginally as its gona be a MAME cab.

a cap kit is gonna be a few dollars mate and a little time, you also have colour adjustments on the neck card,i don't call that throwing money away

I have a guy waitin for me to fix the monitor so i can test it with the only game i have that he already paid for. Held him up already for a week now.
If i spend another $15 and a week to receive it and another day or 2 to fix it.. i think thats a little too much to ask the buyer of the game board.
Hell i'm gona replace it anyways.. eventually. I was only hoping to straighten out this monitor so i could possably sell it insted of trash it.
