I've seen some cabinets with euro hinges and got a set for my work in progress cabinet. However, after reading the intructions, it calls for drilling a 35mm hole to mount the hinge and from my understanding, the hole needs to be on the control panel.
My question is, any of you that use euro hinges on their control panels did you drill a 35mm hole and if so, how deep? If I go 1:1 with the hinge height, I would have less than 1/4" of wood left (using 3/4" MDF) which seems after long term use the hinge would break through.
(if I have confused anyone, I can post pictures)

It'll be fine. The part that attaches to the door itself doesn't move, just the arm does, so it won't break through.
Tons of 3/4" cabinet doors use those hinges successfully, and they see much more open/closing repetitions than your control panel will.
Just don't accidentally drill all the way through your panel.

Thanks for the info. I screwed around today with a pair and got them to work fine. I was going to go for a back mount but after seeing several other CP with them mounted in the front (and was going to be a hell of a lot harder to do them in the rear) decided to just have my CP panel open towards the monitor.
