Derek Zumsteg, a friend of ours, recently had a book published. It's called "The Cheater's Guide to Baseball". He didn't ask me spread the word or anything, I'm just being nice and also thought some baseball fans around here might be interested. I haven't read our copy yet, but I know he's a very funny guy and extremely knowlegeable about baseball.
Amazon's got it, if you want to take a look (http://www.amazon.com/Cheaters-Guide-Baseball-Derek-Zumsteg/dp/0618551131/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-9986175-7659349?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179158890&sr=8-1)

As enjoyable as "Ball Four", and easily as eye-opening, this book doesn't get caught up in the glorified, rose-colored-glasses view of the past to which many baseball books fall victim.
:laugh2: Ball Four is a groundbreaking classic among baseball books. Who wrote that review, the author's mom?

Hmmm... thought you might have been one of the guys that would be interested.

Oh, I am, and may snag it from the library. Comparing it to Ball Four, though, is a little extreme. Ball Four is a major classic of the genre.

I may order this along with a few other things soon. Thanks for bringing it up.

I'm sure Mama Bouton had similar things to say about Ball Four back in the day. ;)
