Ok, I'm getting to the point in construction where I need to get the monitor, bezel, and plexiglass installed.
My cabinet is an upright, 27" wide inside and my monitor is a Billabs 25" CRT. I have a plastic bezel from Happ and I'm wondering what the best way to mate the bezel with the screen is to make it look nice. I had planned to use screws to screw through the plexi and bezel into boards in front of the monitor, however I'm getting stumped on how to get it done correctly and would appreciate advice.
My cab is made from 3/4" MDF and I'm not sure how to install the heavy monitor. It has mounting brackets along the top and bottom to bolt it in, but I was thinking maybe I should put a shelf in for it as well. Is this a good idea?

You definitely need a shelf and you definitely should not drill through the plexi and bezel. Place the monitor on the shelf and position the bezel so everything lines up where you want it. Then secure the monitor to the shelf with bolts or something. The plexi and bezel can be held in place by gravity depending on the angle of your monitor or by some thin strips of wood on the top and bottom or by sitting in a routed groove, etc. Just don't drill through them.

I drilled through my plexi and bezel to attach everything into the wood behind and secured it all with very small black screws. This looks fine in my opinion. You can see the screws of course but they do not reall yjump out at you since the black bezel is located right behind them. I spaced them equally so everything was symetric so it looks fine to me.
I guess it is all about what you consider "bad" looking or what is important to you.

You can attach the Bezel with velcro as another option.
For the glass/plexi you can either:
- Drill it
- Let it sit with gravity
- Attach a wood frame around the outside to hold it in place (think sort of like a picture frame attached to the sides of the cabinet)
- Use mirror clips
- route a thin groove in the speaker panel (if your speakers are above) and the montior shelf and let it sit in the grooves (one groove should be deeper)
Amongst many other options.

Ok, so is the bezel just supposed to touch against the screen, no special way to attach it? Mine doesn't match the screen all that well so I may have to trim it.

yeah, it just kind of butts up against the screen. Mine didn't sit perfectly flush with the screen but it was close enough.
