Title: Virus leftovers...
Post by: hypernova on May 06, 2007, 08:41:49 pm
About a week ago I contracted a pc virus.  I've since forgotten what it was, but had it removed.

What it had done was remove some of my administrative priveleges at the time.  It took out a few options on my start menu, (which I've reinstated,) but it's also done something to at least two of my apps.

Photoshop keeps giving me a message after it opens that I don't have administrative rights, and then closes.

Also, my wireless software keeps shutting itself down shortly after startup.  This isn't too big a deal, as it only does it once per power-on.

I've checked a few things, and can't seem to find the right options to change.  Any suggestions?

Painful as it may sound, format/reload probably a good idea. You can poke and tweak and such to fix things til you're blue in the face, but everytime it does something weird you'll wonder if it's a leftover virus thing...

This place is great! They helped me remove some malicious spyware that I exhausted all of my own resources on. It may take a few days before a helper takes your case, but they will fix you right up.
